Sheena and Bob in TampaBay and beyond…

Filed under: florida, paradise, pinellas county, sponge docks, tampabay, tarpon springs, weather — tampabayusa @ 3:26 PM

The largest Greek community in the United States has been diving for sponges from Tarpon Springs, Florida for more than a hundred years. Located on the Anclote River in Northwest Pinellas County, this is a great destination to launch a ferry trip to the outer islands, sample great Greek cuisine from more than 20 restaurants and bakeries and tour the history of this vibrant community. Just set your GPS for The Sponge Exchange at 735 Dodecanese Blvd in Tarpon Springs. During the day you can take a special boat trip to demonstrate traditional sponge diving, check out the history museum and visit the shops for souvenirs and specialty apparel. In the evening, dining is enriched by music and song. Opa!!!

December marked the fourth month in a row in TampaBay in which home sales improved. And, they improved because prices have come down 39% since the high-water mark in Real Estate in June 2006. In 2007 24,310 homes were sold in TampaBay and 23,615 were sold in 2008. The median sale price in 2007 was $208,900 compared with $169,580. Bottom line, there’s good value in the TampaBay Real Estate market. For more information on Buying (or Selling) a home in TampaBay check out www.tampabayhomes1.com
