The largest Greek community in the United States has been diving for sponges from Tarpon Springs, Florida for more than a hundred years. Located on the Anclote River in Northwest Pinellas County, this is a great destination to launch a ferry trip to the outer islands, sample great Greek cuisine from more than 20 restaurants and bakeries and tour the history of this vibrant community. Just set your GPS for The Sponge Exchange at 735 Dodecanese Blvd in Tarpon Springs. During the day you can take a special boat trip to demonstrate traditional sponge diving, check out the history museum and visit the shops for souvenirs and specialty apparel. In the evening, dining is enriched by music and song. Opa!!!

Another day in paradise: Living
Winter’s over in TampaBay but it’s all about your perspective. This year it was (for us) two, harsh, two night episodes below freezing. In fact, TampaBay temperatures plunged to the lowest levels in more than ten years on Thursday February 5th. In Tampa, the low was 32 while north of Land O Lakes it was near 20. It was the coldest the area has seen since 1996 when Tampa hit its record low of 25 degrees.
So, we folks down here in TampaBay have survived a harsh and brutal winter – by the way, how’s your winter doing? For more information about life in Paradise check out website.
